The municipality of Tulum continues to advance with significant improvements that reflect its evolving vision of inclusive development. Mayor Diego Castañón Trejo recently highlighted a series of infrastructure, public service, and community initiatives that are reshaping the town's urban and social landscape.

Among the key highlights of the past week were the rehabilitation works on three critical roads: Cobá Sur, Oko’ot Avenue, and the coastal corridor. These roadworks are part of a larger plan to enhance connectivity and support Tulum’s urban growth, benefiting both residents and the thousands of tourists who visit the region each month.

In addition to road repairs, the municipality has been carrying out an extensive urban maintenance campaign. Public works crews have focused on cleaning green areas, trimming overgrown vegetation, repairing potholes, and improving the condition of parks and public spaces. These actions aim to provide safe, clean, and enjoyable environments for families and visitors alike.

In the realm of education, the Tulum City Council approved a new regulatory framework designed to strengthen the municipality’s educational institutions. This new regulation lays the groundwork for future generations by ensuring greater institutional support and accountability within the local education system.

Mayor Castañón's administration also took steps to address immediate community needs by signing a new cooperation agreement with local organizations. This strategic partnership will help deliver tangible solutions to pressing issues and exemplifies a results-driven approach to governance.

Meanwhile, efforts to support the well-being of Tulum's citizens continue to expand. In Punta Allen, preventive measures were implemented to combat the spread of dengue, reinforcing the municipality's public health initiatives. Additionally, the third edition of "Rap por la Paz" brought together youth for a cultural event that promotes creativity, peace, and social cohesion.

A major milestone in healthcare was the inauguration of the Unidad Médica del Bienestar, a new medical facility aimed at providing accessible and preventive care to local residents. This unit strengthens Tulum's healthcare infrastructure and highlights the government's ongoing commitment to improving quality of life.

Tulum is steadily evolving from a quiet beach town into a model for sustainable urban development in the Riviera Maya. With strategic investments in infrastructure, public spaces, health, and education, the local government is laying the foundation for a more connected, vibrant, and resilient community. These ongoing efforts reflect a broader vision—one that seeks to preserve Tulum’s natural beauty and cultural roots while embracing progress that enhances daily life for residents and enriches the experience for visitors.
